The Town of Rome has the following positions open:
FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Town of Rome Fire Department always has an open application process and is looking for Volunteer Firefighters, you can complete the application and the addendum and turn them into the Fire Department or bring them to the Town Hall.
TRANSFER SITE ATTENDANT
The Transfer Site Attendant position is responsible for opening and closing the Transfer Site. Monitoring users to ensure they are town of Rome Residents or permitted contractors, and correctly placing trash and recyclables in the proper containers. Attendants must monitor loads of materials being brought into the site to prevent prohibited items. Attendants must be able to work both weekdays and weekends on a rotating schedule.
Total hours of employment will not exceed 800 hours per year.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR
The Town of Rome is currently seeking a Zoning Administrator. The purpose of this position is to supervise, direct and manage the Zoning Department, and is responsible for all employees and activities in the department. The Zoning Administrator administers and enforces Chapters 360 and 326 of the Town Code of Ordinances and on behalf of the Town contracted Building Inspector administers and enforces Chapter 142 of the Town Code of Ordinances.
An associate’s degree in planning, zoning, geography, surveying, or related field is strongly preferred. Five years community planning, ordinance administration with office management, supervisory experience, or any combination of equivalent knowledge is required. A bachelor’s degree is beneficial. Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Zoning Administrator will be considered.
Knowledge of a variety of design data and information such as survey maps, plats, technical reports, requests for service, charts/graphs, planning documents, contracts, engineering manuals, state statutes, administrative code, policies, ordinances, aerial photos, topographical maps, soil surveys, construction drawings, technical journals and reference manuals is beneficial. Must be able to pass a background check and have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
The salary range for the position is $70,000 to $85,000/annually.
