FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Town of Rome Fire Department always has an open application process and is looking for Volunteer Firefighters, you can complete the application and the addendum and turn them into the Fire Department or bring them to the Town Hall.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Town of Rome is currently seeking a Zoning Administrator.  The purpose of this position is to supervise, direct and manage the Zoning Department, and is responsible for all employees and activities in the department.  The Zoning Administrator administers and enforces Chapters 360 and 326 of the Town Code of Ordinances and on behalf of the Town contracted Building Inspector administers and enforces Chapter 142 of the Town Code of Ordinances.

An associate’s degree in planning, zoning, geography, surveying, or related field is strongly preferred.  Five years community planning, ordinance administration with office management, supervisory experience, or any combination of equivalent knowledge is required.  A bachelor’s degree is beneficial.  Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Zoning Administrator will be considered.     
Knowledge of a variety of design data and information such as survey maps, plats, technical reports, requests for service, charts/graphs, planning documents, contracts, engineering manuals, state statutes, administrative code, policies, ordinances, aerial photos, topographical maps, soil surveys, construction drawings, technical journals and reference manuals is beneficial.  Must be able to pass a background check and have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.

TOWN ADMINISTRATOR

The Town of Rome is seeking a Town Administrator who is a dedicated, innovative and community­ focused individual to lead this vibrant and growing community. Located in central Wisconsin’s Adams County, Town of Rome is known as an outdoor recreation haven with four beautiful lakes, five championship golf courses (including the world-class Sand Valley Golf Resort), ATV & snowmobiling trails, hiking & biking and more! The Town of Rome is both a recreation destination and growing municipality in this part of the state.

Require Bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field; prefer Master’s Degree with at least 3 years progressive municipal management experience. Residency is encouraged but not required. The Town desires a candidate with a strong background in budget development, personnel l management and community planning and engagement experience; and a leader with organizational change and development experience. The successful candidate shall possess a high degree of integrity, have open & positive communication skills, be a team leader with a strong work ethic and dynamic leadership skills. Candidates with private sector or military experience will be considered if they can demonstrate accomplishments that directly relate to necessary skills identified.
