As we are cleaning up trees and branches after the recent storms, consider alternatives to debris burning. 
If you choose to burn, the safest time is when the ground is completely snow covered. 
If required, make sure you have a free DNR burning permit and that you check the restrictions every day you wish to burn. 

Remember: Spring is wildfire season in Wisconsin.
